Digital Fluency Intensive - Day 5.

I enjoyed learning about Manaiakalani's Visible Learning pedagogy and all that is involved. These foundational sessions have been very good to be able to connect all the aspects of the pedagogical kaupapa.

The deep dive into the multimodal approach was also enlightening and offered a number of prompts for thinking about what we do and how we do it.

The chance to work with groups and plan a multimodal site was very informative and opened up a number of possibilities for use within the classroom, school and beyond. As I am not teaching in a classroom I decided to make a start on a site that could be developed for our New Zealand Pasifika Principal's Association. The set up or start up is below in the link provided. We have the opportunity to develop this further and this is relevant to what I am currently involved in.

When working in a number of different tools I really enjoy using the Explore option to be able to add or enhance what I may be presenting.

As usual, the presenters and digital mentors have been amazing, knowledgable and patient with all requests and questions. A big thank you to all involved who make this all possible.

 Digital Fluency Intensive Day 4.

Todays programme held a lot of relevance to the work that we do throughout the school year for our data management. It was good to find different ways to collate and display data. The different tools within google sheets for data analysis were handy tips. It was also good to investigate how to trouble shoot different aspects of a given process when it didn't work exactly how you would like. The collegial support provided by everyone has been great.

One learning opportunity that has been recognisable in my journey is the need to make time to continue to explore and reinforce my learning by engaging in this frequently during the week. I will need to balance my weekly calendar to allow more opportunities for this to happen.

Below is an example of creating a chart from data gathered from blog posts over a year.

Digital Fluency Intensive Day 3.

I have learnt that it is very helpful to have already tried a number of google tasks prior to the DFI days with colleagues. The learning that we can share with each other can be wonderful. It also provides an opportunity to know where options can be located whilst working on them in real time.

It has been good to learn about the Create aspect of the Manaiakalani pedagogy. It supports the knowledge of what we are doing and why.

The deep dive and chalk and talk sessions give me a good insight into what is available and how to access it. I need to work on creating time to be able to learn and explore these new learnings. That is still very much a work-on for me.

I have enjoyed becoming more familiar with the Explore tool. It really adds to the opportunities available to present.
